Dr. Karim Yelles (Director of the CRAAG) has provided the following information:

	The epicentre is located very close to the coast.
	The tsunami waves have been generated by a river sediment slide. The
area is well known for a large sediment deposit by a river, a deposit
which is highly unstable.
	So far no surface rupture have been reported from the field. Numerous
associated effects (liquefaction, compactions, groud fissures..) have
been observed.
	A portable network of digital stations is currently being deployed in
the epicentral area.
	Details from the field will be made available by Dr. Karim Yelles in
the coming days and will be published in EMSC web site.
